I am based in Hastings on Hudson in Westchester County, New York, and have clients in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey. I photograph outdoors, in my home studio space and at clients’ homes. If you would like to have outdoor, candid photographs of your family, I can meet you at your home or another local outdoor location. I can also suggest one of several favorite outdoor locations that provide a variety of natural backdrops such as leafy backgrounds, ponds, streams, and rock outcroppings.
If you prefer a more formal portrait of your family, we can meet at my studio or, for an additional fee, I can bring my studio lighting equipment to your home.
Scheduling an Appointment
I am available for a photo session any day of the week. Please view the calendar on this site, or call or email me for availability. Once you have booked a time and date, I ask for a non-refundable deposit to hold your appointment.
If you are planning to use images from our photography session in a winter holiday card, please schedule your appointment by late summer or early fall. These appointments fill up fast, so book early!
Turn Around Time
In order to give you the highest quality images possible, I do a thorough and careful edit. I will deliver your online gallery (usually 100+ pictures) 2-4 weeks after your photography session. Selected images will be available for download directly from the gallery as high resolution jpg files. A flash drive of all images is available to purchase for an additional fee. If you need your photographs faster than the full turn around described above, rush charges will apply.
What to Wear
I find it’s best that people wear something comfortable with clean lines that’s easy to move in. For a family photo shoot: you certainly shouldn’t feel you need to have identical clothing for each family member, but it works best when a family wears similar tones or color shades. For example, light blue and green is a nice combination, or tan and ivory. Texture reads nicely in images, so comfortable sweaters or tops with clean lines are a great option. When photographing several members of a family in a group, I find that prints or busy graphic patterns usually don’t work best. White or black clothing is fine, but you should bring another option as well. We can communicate by phone or email about specific choices as your session date approaches.
